the Raptor is a good off road truck.... but Hennessey improved it, and called their upgraded version, the Veloci Raptor

If you weren’t aware, 2016 will be a year that Ford doesn't build a Raptor, so in case you just can’t wait for the 2017 model to come out, Hennessey Performance decided to put their magic touch on a 2016 Ford F-150 and make it their very own.

last year a group of young Mazda employees and students from the local Hiroshima Technical High School embarked on the restoration of an L10A Cosmo Sports.

It was part of an initiative to celebrate Mazda’s heritage as well as its Hiroshima roots, while the high school students got a heck of a summer vacation experience to boot.

"there's an app for that" and a valet service too... for getting your car from where ever you are that you can't park, and to bring you your car when you're ready to leave

Zirx can also, at the tap of a button, take your car to be washed, have its oil changed, or get its gas tank filled.

Users can buy a daily or monthly pass, and most of the 10,000 current users in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Washington and now parts of New York start off with a single use, before graduating to a regular subscription (in New York, $299-$499/month, depending on level of service).

“In San Diego, it’s all for nightlife—baseball games, restaurant row,” Behr says. “In Seattle it’s mainly business commuters parking in the city for the day, then going home to the suburbs in the evening. And in New York, it’s mostly weekend trips out of town, people who keep their car parked in the city all week, but then want it brought out to get away on Friday afternoon.”

Interesting off-plan use clusters also develop. “We were seeing a bunch of weird blue dots [signifying pickups and drop-offs] at this one spot in San Francisco,” Behr says. “And when we looked into it, it was a big Marriott.” Guests were using the service to avoid the predatory hotel valet fees. Parking outside of Fenway is $40.00

proving that investors should avoid running up the tab on collector cars, the recent barn find Alabama Daytona was over a 10,000 dollar loss to the guy who bought it out of the barn

Charlie Lyons found and bought it, for over 100,000 and it only sold for 10,000. Add the sales tax of about 10% that Charlie paid, and he certainly lost over $20,000 for thinking he had a gold mine when he really only found a rusty Dodge. And THAT is what over inflates the prices on collector cars.

Ferrari stock in the news

Started selling in December for 52, went to 62, now tumbled to 34. Huh... nearly everyone predicted that would happen. A company that sells more merch than cars, because they sell cars no one can afford, around 7 thou a year, but everyone wants to be associated with... means not a good investment, just a nice ride, and a beautiful piece of rolling art most people can't afford to cover the required warranty maintenance on, so they rarely drive it

the Bloodhound SSC plans for a 2016 run in Africa are improved by lots of rain flooding the dry lake bed right now, which should improve the surface

https://www.facebook.com/KalahariDesertSpeedweek/ reports 25 cm of rain, more than the past two years has recently fallen on Hakseen Pan, a dried lake bed surface, which is water-laid and floods regularly keeping it in prime condition.

Hakskeen Pan, the site of Malcolm Campbell’s 1929 record attempt, in the North Western corner of South Africa, was initially dismissed because of a large dirt road running across it. However, last year a new tarmac road was built across the end of the Pan and the old dirt road became defunct.

The new tarmac road has improved access to the lake bed, and in early November 2015 Andy Green made another journey to Northern Cape Province. This time, the news was all good.

Over 19 km long, 5 km wide, very hard and very flat, great access (the new tarmac road), nearby accommodation, on-site power, and good communications with ideal weather.

Hollywood is going to try and cash in on car maker movies

there are movies in the making right now about Rolls and Royce, Enzo Ferrari, and Ferruccio Lamborghini, and Scorsese is said to be right now working on a Knievel movie with William Monahan, who wrote The Departed.

Asif Kapadia will direct the Rolls-Royce film, helmed by producers Anthony Haas and the late Sir Richard Attenborough. Martin Scorsese joined the producer’s roster in 2012. Silver Ghost (working title) takes place around the turn of the 20th century. It tells the story of how two Englishmen from opposite worlds joined to build the world’s preeminent car. Kapadia directed the movie Senna

Germany has opened the first three-mile stretch of a bicycle highway that will eventually span over 62 miles, connecting 10 western cities including Duisburg, Bochum, and Hamm, as well as four universities.

Like a traditional highway, this bicycle highway has passing lanes, overpasses and underpasses for crossroads, and even streetlights. However, cyclists won't have to worry about trucks zooming by or bus lanes. It's just a clear path for bikes
