The District announced that they will continue to ticket and tow abandoned or parked vehicles lining any snow emergency route.
"Don't park your car illegally, and that includes parking it kind of in the middle of the street next to the snow bank," said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Cars need to be 12 inches from the curb, not a snow mound, the mayor added.
Snow removal crews are aiming to plow streets from curb to curb, meaning any vehicles impeding their progress will be removed. Cars left in traffic lanes on any road are being deemed a road hazard and will be removed as well.
Violators of the parking bans are facing a $250 ticket, a $100 towing fee and will be charged $25-per-day until the vehicle is claimed.
And the District’s Department of Public Works also advises that you bring a shovel to the impound lot in order to dig your car out of the snow, says CBS DC.
